Sergeant Daniel Mobley

Sgt. Daniel Mobley, 44, was a 22-year veteran of the department.

He was struck and killed by a vehicle at about 9:00 am while on the scene of a previous crash involving another DeKalb County police officer. Sgt. Mobley was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival, DeKalb police said.

Footnote: As the writer of this Memorial Page, and as a retired traffic patrol officer myself, I am not only saddened by the fact that our first memorial page of the year at the Road Victims USA website is for a fallen officer, but all the more so since I was a guest for a day with the DeKalb County Police Department myself, just over a year ago, and I found them to be a great bunch of people.

R.I.P. Sergeant Mobley.
