Christmas Eve

Just after 7 p.m., a 35-year-old St. Petersburg man was driving south on 48th Street N approaching 54th Avenue N. A [36-year-old] woman was driving west on 54th Avenue N, when the other driver turned into her path. The front of her car collided with the left side of the man’s car, which overturned on impact, according to a release. The man was taken to a hospital where he later died. Christmas Day

Just after 1 a.m., a 24-year-old man from Sarasota was killed in a single-vehicle. According to a police report, the man was traveling on eastbound Beach Road, west of Beachway Drive. He allegedly missed a curve, rotated [sic] and traveled off the roadway before colliding with a utility pole. About 3 a.m., the 43-year-old driver of a Toyota Camry died in a single-vehicle crash near Aloma, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A 21-year-old pedestrian, who was walking nearby at the time of the crash, was struck by an unknown part of the vehicle, and seriously injured.  Driver killed, pedestrian injured in Christmas Day crash near Aloma (msn.com)

At at 4:05 a.m., two people were killed and three others were seriously injured in an early morning, two-vehicle collision in Palm Beach County. One sedan was traveling southbound on Congress Avenue and another sedan was traveling westbound on Forest Hill Boulevard. 2 killed, 3 seriously injured in early Christmas Day crash (wflx.com)

Around 4 p.m., a man was killed in Orange County in a crash, near the intersection of East Colonial Drive and Taylor Creek Road. Justin Delong was driving a 1990 Ford Ranger which left the road for an unknown reason. Orange County Fire Rescue crews said the Ranger appeared to have rolled at least seven times, causing the driver to be ejected. Delong, 28, died of his injuries.
