At approximately 1:40am on Monday, April 13, 2020, Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Ladue was killed in a vehicle crash near the intersection of Savannah Highway and Dobbin Road, at West Ashley, west of Charleston, SC.
Deputy Ladue was on patrol when another vehicle collided with his patrol car. Sadly, he was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. The other driver was also killed in the crash.
In a subsequent statement, Sheriff J Al Cannon said, “The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office mourns the loss of Deputy Ladue. He has served with the agency since February 2019. He patrolled the West Ashley district, where coworkers admired him for his dependability and enthusiasm. Our condolences go out to his family members and friends.”
This incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol, who attended the scene.
